Privacy Policy
Your privacy is important to us. This policy outlines how Estate Planning Attorneys (“we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, and protects the personal information of both individuals seeking estate planning legal help (“Users”) and licensed estate planning attorneys (“Listed Attorneys”) who use our platform at www.estateplanningattorneys.com.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with all applicable laws, including data privacy statutes and attorney advertising rules in California, New York, and other U.S. jurisdictions.

2. How We Use Information
We collect, store, and process information for the following lawful purposes:
For Users:
- To match you with suitable estate planning attorneys in your state
- To send event invites, resources, or educational content (with consent)
- To improve platform performance and user experience

For Listed Attorneys:
- To create and display attorney profiles

3. Attorney Advertising and Professional Responsibility
We comply with the advertising and professional conduct rules of all U.S. jurisdictions in which attorneys are listed or promoted on our platform, including (but not limited to) the rules established by:
- The American Bar Association (ABA) Model Rules of Professional Conduct, and
- State-specific rules such as:
- California Rules of Professional Conduct (Rules 7.1–7.5)
- New York Rules of Professional Conduct (Rules 7.1–7.5)
- Florida Rules Regulating The Florida Bar (Rule 4-7.11 et seq.)
- Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct (Part VII)
- Illinois Rules of Professional Conduct (Rule 7.1 et seq.)
- And similar advertising and ethics rules adopted in other states and jurisdictions.
For Listed Attorneys:
Attorney profiles published on our platform may be considered attorney advertising under relevant state law. As such, each Listed Attorney is individually responsible for ensuring that all information they submit, display, or authorize us to publish complies with applicable rules of professional conduct and advertising regulations in their state(s) of licensure.
This includes (but is not limited to):
- Including appropriate disclaimers (e.g., “prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome”) where required;
- Avoiding misleading or unverifiable claims about experience, results, or credentials;
- Clearly communicating fee structures when advertising flat fees or consultations;
- Ensuring that content published under their name meets all bar requirements, including those applicable to testimonials, specializations, and third-party endorsements.
Our Role:
We provide a platform that helps users connect with estate planning attorneys—but we are not a law firm, attorney referral service, or advertising agency under the definitions provided by state bars.
While we review profile content for general alignment with ethical guidelines and professionalism, we do not independently verify the accuracy of attorney-submitted claims and do not certify or guarantee compliance with any specific state bar’s requirements.
Each attorney listed on our platform must:
- Confirm they are licensed and in good standing with the bar(s) of the jurisdictions they are listed in;
- Notify us promptly if their license status changes, including suspensions, disbarments, or pending disciplinary proceedings;
- Comply with all rules of professional conduct governing online advertising, solicitation, and communications with potential clients.
We Do Not:
- Guarantee or promise client acquisition or revenue outcomes for any attorney;
- Collect, store, or transmit confidential or privileged information between attorneys and users;
- Engage in improper fee-sharing with attorneys. We charge marketing or listing fees in accordance with state rules prohibiting fee-splitting with non-lawyers (e.g., ABA Model Rule 5.4).
If an attorney, user, or bar association raises a concern regarding ethical compliance, we will review the issue promptly and may suspend or remove profiles in violation of this policy or any applicable state rule.
Attorneys are encouraged to consult their jurisdiction’s ethics counsel or state bar compliance officer for personalized guidance.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
We process personal data lawfully under:
- Your consent (e.g., receiving event updates or submitting personal info to get matched)
- Legitimate interest (e.g., helping attorneys grow their practices; helping users find legal help)
- Contractual necessity (e.g., listing attorneys on the platform)
- Legal obligation (e.g., responding to court orders or regulatory inquiries)
5. Data Sharing & Third Parties
We may share information with:
- Service providers (hosting, email platforms, analytics, CRM, customer support)
- Attorneys (only when users expressly request a match)
- Legal or regulatory authorities as required by law
- Third parties only in accordance with applicable bar regulations and data protection laws
We do not sell personal data.
6. Confidentiality & Attorney-Client Privilege
We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice. Submitting a form, quiz, or requesting a match does not create an attorney-client relationship with us or with any Listed Attorney.
Users and attorneys are responsible for establishing attorney-client relationships and handling privileged communications outside our platform. We recommend attorneys follow all client confidentiality rules under their jurisdiction's professional conduct codes.
