About Tom Misteli

Tom Misteli is a trusted advocate for Texas families navigating life's most important legal decisions. With over 15 years of experience, he helps clients protect their assets, provide for their loved ones, and plan for the future through comprehensive estate planning, wills, trusts, and probate guidance.

Tom brings a unique perspective to estate planning, combining his legal expertise with real-world business experience. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Florida State University before discovering his passion for law at SMU Dedman School of Law, where he graduated in 2008.

Before founding Misteli Law Firm, Tom built his career from the ground up, starting as a residential real estate appraiser with Washington Mutual, then clerking at Barrett Burke Wilson Castle Daffin & Frappier during law school. He advanced to Associate Attorney and eventually Associate General Counsel at the firm before serving as in-house litigation counsel for Fidelity National Title.

This diverse background gives Tom a comprehensive understanding of both the legal and financial complexities his clients face. His experience in real estate law and litigation proves particularly valuable when estate planning intersects with property matters—helping clients navigate everything from family business succession to complex asset protection strategies.

At Misteli Law Firm, Tom takes a personalized approach to estate planning, recognizing that every family's situation is unique. He works closely with clients to understand their goals, explain their options in plain English, and create comprehensive plans that provide peace of mind for generations to come.

Tom's clients appreciate his straightforward communication style and ability to make complex legal concepts understandable. Whether you're draft your first estate plan, establishing a trust, or navigating probate proceedings, Tom provides the experienced guidance you need to make confident decisions about your family's future.

When he's not helping families plan for tomorrow, Tom enjoys life's simple pleasures. You'll often find him traveling with his wife Michelle, discovering new destinations and creating memories together. At home, he unwinds on the patio with a good cigar, loves firing up the grill for a great steak, and spoiling his four beloved pugs, who run the household.

This balance between professional expertise and personal passions reflects Tom's approach to law. He understands that estate planning isn't just about documents and legal structures, but about protecting the people and experiences that matter most.
