About Richard Keyt

Richard Keyt, J.D., LL.M. – Arizona Estate Planning & Business Attorney

Richard Keyt  is an Arizona wills, trusts, and estate planning attorney who has dedicated his career to helping Arizona residents protect their most valuable assets—their loved ones. He believes that when people fail to plan, their families pay the price of

•        assets going to the wrong heirs,
•        costly, time-consuming and public Superior Court probate (we charge $5,000 for an uncontested probate),
•        heirs inheriting assets when they are too young or if the heirs are not capable of managing the inherited assets,
•        not naming who they want to raise minor children if both parents cannot,
•        family fighting over their healthcare such as operate or don’t operate,
•        family fighting over who will manage their assets if they lose their mental capacity,
•        family fighting over whether to pull the plug or not when they are brain dead being kept alive by a machine, and
•        unnecessary stress, costs, legal fees and court involvement.

That’s why Richard offers free consultations—in office, phone, or Zoom video—so Arizona residents can get answers to their questions and design a custom estate plan and a revocable living trust that eliminate all of the above problems any many others.

Richard founded KEYTLaw, LLC in 2001 after leaving one of Arizona’s largest law firms, determined to build a client-first practice powered by education and online accessibility. Since then, he has:

•        Formed over 9,600 Arizona LLCs and more than 500 nonprofit corporations.
•        Prepared wills, trusts, and estate plans that give many families peace of mind.
•        Authored two educational books: Family Asset Protection and the Arizona LLC Operations Manual.

Clients consistently praise Richard and KEYTLaw for being responsive, knowledgeable, and making complex legal matters simple and stress-free.  He has 403 fives-star Google, FaceBook and Birdeye reviews as of August 25, 2025. See his reviews at https://www.keytlaw.com/review

His custom estate plans include 36 essential documents and services.  See his fees and the 36 documents and services at https://www.keytlaw.com/ep-contents.

Before his legal career, Richard served for six years in the U.S. Air Force where he flew the supersonic F-4 Phantom II fighter bomber.  In 1972 Richard flew combat missions over South Vietnam, North Vietnam and Laos. In 1973 Richard and was stationed in South Korea where he sat alert with a nuclear bomb in his airplane. He was an F-4 instructor for three years (1973-1976)  and trained men how to fly the F-4.  This discipline, precision, and commitment to mission success defines his approach to law and protecting families and businesses with the same level of focus he once applied in the cockpit.

Today, Richard and his son, estate planning attorney Richard C. Keyt, continue to help Arizona families and business owners safeguard their futures through estate planning, forming LLCs, and business law services.
